
Pit disaster memorial: Astley artist commissioned
Astley Signs has supported one of its employees in a project to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the 1860 pit disaster at Burradon Colliery, North Tyneside; an explosion killing 76 men and boys.
Paul Allan, Sales Manager was commissioned to create the artwork in memory of those killed which is to be a permanent memorial situated at Burradon School.
Astley Signs has assisted with the production of the memorial, digitally reproducing the artwork and printing to substrate.
